Our current project is Middleton Chambers, Hull
Middleton Chambers sits in the famous and historic old town in Kingston Upon Hull. Dating back to 1908, the building was used as a large legal office for many years before most recently being occupied by the company behind the Revolution bar chain. Unfortunately, after several rebranding attempts, the bar went out of business and the building has been empty since early 2019.
Location
Located in a popular business, living and entertainment district, just 0.5 miles from the main station and a 2 minute walk from Hull’s city centre main shopping area, this building is perfect for a mixed commercial and residential scheme. The full address: 33 Lowgate, Hull, HU1 1EA
A two part plan
The building is currently made up of a large open plan commercial space on the ground and first floor with small offices on the second and third floor.
Commercial
Our proposal for the ground floor is to create a modern, open plan commercial space which could be adapted for a variety of uses. Our design will encourage the occupant to contribute to the buildings sense of community whilst bringing the front of the building to life for the wider population.
Residential
The living spaces this building can offer will be amongst the most generous in the city centre.
On the upper floors we are able to create four spacious one bed apartments and nine well-proportioned two bedroom apartments, with several benefiting from spacious private terraces. We will also utilise the charming listed building, which sits at the rear of the development, to create a stand-alone two bedroom maisonette with its own garden courtyard and private entrance on Bishops Lane. This offers a total of 15 larger than average residential properties to go along the open-plan commercial space on the ground floor.
